How to Enjoy Popular Destinations Without the Crowds🌍

5 top proven tips to say 👋🏾 to the crowds

Hi!

I'm back with some juicy new travel edits and...some tips to make you travel more and better.

I also have another HUGE announcement, but let's get to today's highly requested issue (with a freebie), shall we?

We all love exploring new places, but the crowds? Not so much.

Luckily, there are a few ways to beat the masses and have a more peaceful travel experience...and I'm about to spill it all out. You're welcome.

Here are 5 of my top tips to enjoy your trips without the hustle and bustle.

I know this can sound like "common travel sense," but hear me out: instead of traveling during the peak season, try to plan your trips during the shoulder season.

These are the periods just before and after the high tourist season.

For example, visit Japan in November instead of April during the cherry blossom season. The weather is not that bad, and you'll encounter fewer tourists.

2. Stay Somewhere Different 🏘️

Rather than booking a room in a large hotel, consider a smaller boutique hotel or a vacation rental in a quieter part of the town.

These places often have more character and fewer tourists, giving you a more authentic experience.

And that’s exactly what I did for my upcoming trip to Athens in December (following two of my own tips!).

3. Visit at Unusual Times 🌃

Try visiting popular sites during off-peak hours, like around lunchtime or late afternoon.

Why? Because most tourists stick to mid-morning or mid-afternoon visits. By adjusting your schedule, you can enjoy a less crowded experience.

An example? A Bangkok overnight tuk-tuk ride to see the temples.

4. Smart Tech Usage 📱

I use Google Maps to get real-time information about the peak times for popular sites (if you use other apps, let me know!).

I also check the crowd levels before heading out so I can eventually change my plans on the go.

5. Find Alternative Highlights 📷

Every city has its main attractions, but remember the smaller, lesser-known sites.

For example, while the Louvre is a must-see in Paris, the Musée Rodin offers an equally impressive collection with far fewer visitors.

And…to help you kickstart your less-crowded adventure, I've created a list of 30 secondary attractions worldwide (based on some of the most famous sites in the world). Download it, save it, enjoy it 😉
